Seafarer Remains Missing After Falling Overboard a Maersk Vessel

An Indian Ordinary Seaman (OS) Rajat Kumar is reported missing after falling overboard Maersk Lirquen on 28 January 2021. As per our sources, the vessel was en route to Hong Kong from Singapore when the said incident took place.

Maersk has informed the family of Kumar via phone call and email. The company has informed the family that OS Rajat Kumar was reported missing from the vessel at/around 0800 hours (ship’s time) on 28th January 2021.

As per the official e-mail sent by Maersk, Search and Rescue (SAR) efforts were initiated by the vessel and was coordinated by relevant authorities, also, the company has activated their emergency response processes.

Our team contacted one of the family members of OS Rajat Kumar, and it was confirmed that Rajat Kumar has contacted his family a day before he was reported missing, and “everything was fine.”



It was also confirmed by Rajat’s family member that as per the company, Maersk Lirquen has resumed her passage leaving the Search and Rescue operations.
