Another Iranian Cargo Ship En Route To Venezuela

Another Iranian cargo ship is en route to Venezuela, as the Islamic Republic of Iran continues to defy the sanctions put on both the nations (Iran and Venezuela) by the United States of America’s (USA).

As per various reports received, the Iran-flagged ‘Golsan’ is en route to Venezuela and is expected to dock soon. The said ship departed Iran in mid-May and is currently in the Caribbean Sea. As per the Washington Post, the ship is expected to reach Venezuelan coast by Monday.

According to the maritime data consultancy TankerTrackers, the General Cargo Ship Golsan is carrying parts needed for repairing one of the Petroleos de Venezuela (PDVSA)’s refineries.

On the other hand, Russ Dallen, the head of the Miami-based investment company, said that this Iranian ship is carrying fuel as well as parts to repair the South American nation’s refineries.

Recently, the five Iranian oil tankers reportedly delivered 1.5 million barrels of gasoline to the South American nation, despite the U.S. warnings against entering the Caribbean waters and completing this delivery.

In response to the warnings, the Iranian government summoned the Swiss ambassador in order to inform the U.S. that the Islamic Republic will respond militarily to any perceived threat against their vessels.
